SGS - Acronym for Student Government Suite

Student Senate - The major governing body of the Rensselaer Student Union

Executive Board - E-Board - The student group that oversees all fiscal operations in the Union.

Grand Marshal - GM - Highest elected official of the RPI student body that manages over the student senate. Title dates back to the Civil War.

President of the Union - PU - Second highest elected student official. Presides over the E-Board.

Judicial Board - J-Board - The body that has the final say in all student right related issues.

Intrafraternity Council - IFC - The organization that oversees all fraternities at RPI.

Panhellenic Council - Panhel - The organization that oversees all sororities at RPI.

Independent Council - IC - The body that represents any student not represented by a social fraternity or sorority.
