Sustainability in Troy/RPI
Recently RPI students and Troy community activists have realized the importance of "going green". Aside from recycling, some people have turned to addressing the issue of sustainability. Sustainability can be divided into several subtopics, including electronics and food waste management. Every day, students and Troylets leave lights on, forget to turn off their computers/monitors, waste a great deal of food with each meal, and commit other atrocious, wasteful, anti-sustainability acts.
To help thwart this behavior, students at RPI have the opportunity to join any of the developing sustainability organizations around campus. One such organization is led by students Scott Lucas, Dan Beaty, Lord Tamas, Rich Marchetti, and Zach Knezo. Feel free to contact them with any questions/concerns that you may have.
During Earth Day 2008 (4/22/08), the aforementioned sustainability organization will be distributing informational pamphlets around RPI and select Troy locations. For more information, please visit their Facebook group.
